No girls mum!

So TJ and I were talking about how his day at school had been, apparently they played soccer today. So I asked if all the boys and girls had played,at which point he looked at me like I was crazy, and said in a disappointed way, the way I would speak to him if he did something really bad...he said, "mummy, not girls, just boys, we don't play with girls"
My heart sank....am I raising a chauvinist? Anyway he just earned himself years of doing dishes so that he knows boys are not any better than girls! This is personal!

Whispers....

A few minutes ago TJ and I were driving from a shoping mall, and he decided he wanted ice cream...to which I said no. Off course he started yelling and screaming, and I yelled back what I thought was a scary NO!
So being the clever kid that he is, he quickly changed his tactics when he realised mummy wasn't gonna back down. He started whispering, and I mean really whispering...."Mummy can I please have ice cream pleaaaase"
I couldn't help laughing, I mean why does this dude think whispering will cause me to change my mind? Does he think his whispers are that sweet? Well, whispering or no whispering, mummy did not take a detour to an ice cream shop. I dont want him thinking mummy has gone soft, and if word breaks out, daddy will also take advantage of this softer, nicer mum....we can't have that can we?

Why? The dreaded word.....

TJ : Mummy where are we going today
Me: We are not going anywhere
TJ : Why?
Me : Because its Saturday
TJ : Why
Me : School is closed today
TJ : Why
Me : Its a weekend
TJ : Why?
Me : No why, we are just not going anywhere
TJ : So we are going to school

Understand where this is going? Basically, this conversation continued until  I stopped responding.
Words like 'why' must be forbidden
Words like why should be treated like swear words, and everytime a child says them they must put a coin in the jar! It would make life easier for parents.

Hi all....am back

Well, it will not be a surprise if no one reads this blog at all, considering I haven’t posted anything in almost a year.
So what is my excuse for going on hibernation….I don’t have one! Yes it has been a crazy year, work and motherhood did take over, but procrastination is a big part of the reason for my silence.
Over the next few weeks I will be updating you on what TJ has been up to. He has really grown by the way, and turned 3 a few months back. Today, however, I will not go into detail of his exploits, but I only have one question….what do they teach these kids at Sunday school. Why am I asking? Well a few days ago TJ said his prayers before sleeping and it went something like this…”And Jesus, and crocodile(pronounced cocodyle) and a dinosaur, the water, and cocodyle, amen”
Needless to say, by the time he was done I was laughing so hard and he just looked at me like I was a mad woman! He was obviously shocked and could not understand why mummy was laughing! I mean, who says such prayers mmmmm? So somebody out there tell me…what DO they teach these kids at Sunday school? Just as well that Sunday school is free, otherwise I’d sue the teacher…..
